Life and maybe Love

This is my excited teenage girl/adult woman post.

So the new possibility of actual love and an adult relationship are super scary, but it's also insanely exciting. You feel young and adult at the same time. You cannot believe you're living life. You can't believe you're being so corny. It's hard, because they're far, and you can't see them, but at least you're not being smothered. And just imagining what it will be like...!
Believe in love. It's a scary thought, and it may fail. Who knows? But it will be worth it. Even the hope of it will help set you free. You'll feel a little nuts and ten different ways, and that's okay.

There is hope for the male race!

So I'm not going to say that all college guys are the greatest or super responsible, but there are some great improvements.
First, the guys are WAY cuter. Just in general, a much better bunch of guys. Second, the guys are more serious about what they want, but they're also super fun. Third, they're forced to be around you. Which sounds bad, but the idea is that you're bound to run into them, especially in the dorms.
Tip: Say Hi to people!
Have an amazing time!

First Week Of College: AKA Half-A**ed Post

It is 1am, I have an 8am class, and too much homework.

Food tips:

If they offer to-go at the dining hall:
Use cups as an extra food container.
Get more food than you will eat and store it in your fridge for food later.

No one to sit with?
Sit with someone who is sitting alone. They'll appreciate it.

Delivery:
There will be places that people RAVE about nearby. Eat there. Develop your own opinion.
Make use of coupons.
Many places deliver, maybe even really really late.

Friends!
Talk to people. About anything. Literally.
Join a group that's having fun, telling jokes or playing a game.
Keep your door open, study in public places, hang out at the front desk.
Say Hi.
Compliment them on something.
Remember something about them? "Hey, you're that one person, right?"

I apologize that this is just a tiny list, and that I am irregular, but there is much schoolwork and things. PS, find good deals, but get your textbooks asap. Many teachers want hw/reading done right away. You'll learn if you need it enough to keep it or in time to return it.

Have an amazing night!

A More Serious Post

So I'd like to share my sympathy and support to not only Robin Williams and his family, but to all out there suffering. One of the things that was said in response to his death was that because of his suicide, he was a coward. I reject that statement, and such statements in direction to all those suffering. He was a good man, who was suffering deeply, and did his greatest to not only hide it but to reduce the suffering of others. Suicide is a way of saying that you could no longer be strong. It shows great strength and bravery to wake up every day, period, but also to bring joy to the world, to face your demons, to try and be a better person, and to face whatever life has for you.

Everyone has some struggle, and some have such terrible pains and demons haunting their every turn. If you are in pain, I give you my greatest love and support. If you feel that there is no one who understands in the least or that no one cares, I guarantee you that you are not alone and that if no one else, I care, and those who understand your pain care. Suicide means that there is no chance to get better, to change, to do what you've always wanted. Sometimes, the pain seems like too much, but you have gotten through every terrible day in your life, not unscathed, but you have survived. You are amazing. Please, survive just a little longer, just long enough to get better.

Also, many have complained that we only care about those who are famous that have died, which isn't true, not usually. This is someone who has affected many lives, and this brings to focus some part of what so many go through. I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone, for existing, for those who have done any good deed, who have ever had any love in their lives, from those who lay their lives on the line, to those suffering from any disease mental or physical, to those who have smiled and waved and listened, thank you for touching lives around you. Thank you for adding beauty and love to this world.

Remember the beauty in life, and the beauty in yourself.

Orientation/Move In Prep????

So for orientation, see what your school has planned, what's going on, and their suggestions. For me, I'm getting my ID on move-in day and not orientation, so I need to plan to look cute AND comfortable. For orientation, I'd definitely suggest a notebook and be prepared to carry many papers.

Be prepared with a great attitude, open minded, and school pride. We'll be meeting a ton of new people, many of which you'll see in the halls often. Participate and have fun during orientation. Talk. Be excited.

On move-in day, keep your door propped open, and be ready to help anyone when you're not busy. I'm sure they'll appreciate it. You're all in the same anxiety boat, so no worries! (Yeah right!)

The goal this year is to be open to a new world and a new life. I want it be the best, because it's the only one I have.

I'll let you know how things go, and I'll let you know about my designing and orientation and that junk. Good luck!

Floral Nail Art DIY!

I needed a cute nail art that wasn't too gaudy for work, and this is what I came up with. This style of flower has been very popular, and I thought it was adorable! This is how I did it:

First, I pushed back my cuticles and used my base coat. Let that dry.

Second, I chose a pale lavender, but you can choose whatever you'd like. Be sure to view MissJENFABULOUS, she'll show you the best way to apply polish.. You start in the middle, work your way to the cuticle, and the to the sides. Let it dry.

TIP: To make nails look thinner, leave a tiny bit of nail showing on the sides!

Third, use a white nail polish and brush to create petals. The first brush stroke from the middle to the edge was long. Let the white polish dry. (It would also be cute to use a different color for the petals and things).

Fourth, using the back of a pin or a pencil or a dotting tool, create some small black dots in the middle of the flower. Once again, let it dry:)

Finally, using a top coat, seal your look. It's been three days and they still look pretty good:)

I hope you liked this little DIY! Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions. Have an amazing day!

P.S. One week until move in day!

Dorm Coaster DIY!

I wanted to make a cute coaster that I could use in my dorm because I was raised on coasters, and because it's a nice accessory to make a place feel homey. I bought sheets of felt at Wal-Mart for 23cents each!
1. Using coasters and cups, trace and cut out three circles, of increasingly small sizes. The middle size needs to be white.
2. Cut the smallest circle into wedges. Adjust to desire. (P.S. You can use scraps to make seeds)
3. Using hot glue or tacky glue, glue the white on the largest color, and the wedges on the white.
Bonus-4. If you used tacky glue, place the coaster in a towel and iron it. This will help bind it much like hot glue.
5. Enjoy!
I'm sorry for the crappy pictures, but they turned out super cute. I saw the idea on pinterest, so you can use that as your inspiration!
